Digital fabrics to touch

The Autumn Edition of Intertextile Apparel Fabrics has arrived: The international textile industry convenes in Shanghai from 23–25 September 2020. With the Hybrid Showcase, even suppliers who are unable to attend can showcase their innovative products and talk to buyers. Anti-bacterial fabrics form a focal point of the show.

September 2020

This week, the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai will become a meeting point for the textile industry. 3,400 exhibitors from 20 countries will meet from 23–25 September 2020 in order to network and do business with interested parties. One new feature of the trade show is the Hybrid Showcase: Here, exhibitors who cannot attend will be able to present their products via video. On site, visitors will be able to see and physically touch the fabrics and, if interested, directly contact the respective suppliers. While the ongoing travel and contact restrictions means that many exhibitors are unable to personally participate in the trade show, this digital solution will enable them to nevertheless network with buyers. “Internationality is a crucial component to what makes the Intertextile platform so effective. This is also why we have worked hard to provide alternative, digital solutions for buyers and suppliers who are unable to travel to the show, with the goal to facilitate as much business interaction as possible for the industry,” explains Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.

Visitors to the trade show can therefore look forward to an international range of products from Germany, Japan, Switzerland, the USA and of course China in the respective zones and pavilions. This year, in response to the high demand in the industry caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be a particular focus on anti-bacterial products. These include innovative materials that block viruses and can be used for masks. Alongside the product showcases, the trade show will feature a series of lectures and a total of 30 seminars on diverse topics including new design and industry trends, sustainability and collaborations as well as marketing and business strategies.

The Autumn Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics will run concurrently with Yarn Expo.
