June 2019

The China textile industry is in great demand with an export value of more than Euro 88 billion. This places it among the top ten textile-exporting countries worldwide [1]. In 2019 its apparel market is expected to generate a market volume of Euro 285,312 million, placing it second in the global rankings, behind the USA [2]. The Intertextile Pavilion Shenzhen therefore offers an ideal environment to discover the industry’s latest trends and developments.

In recent years, demand from domestic buyers has been especially high for Japanese, Taiwanese and Korean exhibitors, who are known for their craftsmanship, unique fashion styles and pioneering innovations. The exhibitors’ new collections will be showcased at region and country pavilions. At the Taiwan Pavilion, the specialised yarn manufacturer Four Elements Energy Tech will present its Talent Yarn, a smart, functional textile that incorporates zinc extracted from oyster shells and has antibacterial, anti-odour and UV protection properties. The Korea Pavilion will feature ca. 26 suppliers including Kyoung Young Tex, a leading manufacturer of quality fabrics with products made from durable and environmentally-friendly natural fibres such as bamboo and hemp. At the Trend Forum, the Chinese Textile Information Center will present the current developments on the domestic scene and the leading trends in China.

In 2018 the Intertextile Pavilion Shenzhen attracted 17,664 domestic and international trade visitors and 971 exhibitors, the latter representing a 35 per cent increase on the previous year. A further increase in exhibitor numbers is expected this year at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from 4 to 6 July 2019. The Intertextile Pavilion Shenzhen is organised by Messe Frankfurt Hong Kong, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT, the China Textile Information Centre and the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association, and will run concurrently with the 19th China International Fashion Brand Fair.
